Patrick has been involved in racing, literally, his entire life. In fact, Patrick was almost born at The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course following one of his father’s races. His father, Larry, raced in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) for over eighteen years before handing the wheel to Patrick. He started racing quarter midgets at the age six. At age nine, he moved into karting and a successful and highly competitive racing career took wings. The year 2007 marked Patrick’s first karting championship in the MSOKC Kart Club. After a successful karting career, at age 16 Patrick strapped into the cockpit of a full size racecar and the path to his future was set. In 2010, he captured his first SCCA National Championship in the F500 class. For the 2011-2012 racing season he raced his Formula Enterprise racecar at the club and professional level. Some of his more notable accomplishments include winning two National Championships (F500 and FE), being selected as a Team USA Finalist to represent America in Europe, winning the 2011 SCCA Enterprises Pro “Rookie of the Year”, and signing his first professional racing contract with JAY Motorsports for the 2011 and 2012 seasons. His most prestigious accomplishment, as of late, is winning the 2012 Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup Shootout. This victory provided Patrick with the majority of funding for the 2013 race season, courtesy of Mazda. After winning the shootout Patrick signed to drive for the Major League Baseball pitcher CJ Wilson. Piloting a CJ Wilson Racing Mazda MX-5 in 2013, Gallagher collected Rookie of the Year and 5th place in the series point’s battle in only his first year of sports-car racing. Patrick plans to continue with CJ Wilson Racing in 2014.
